Brigadeiro is a simple, yet very delicious Brazilian chocolate truffle. It first emerged around the 1940`s and was named after a popular Brigadier general named Eduardo Gomes, who is said to have had a sweet tooth for chocolate! This sweet dish is believed to have been greatly a result of the Nestle brand emerging in Brazil during the time it was introduced. Brigadeiro is most often found at special functions, especially birthday parties.
